Our Team

Chris is an oncologist with 30 years experience working in Australia, the UK, Singapore and New Zealand.  He is a Medical Director of The Christchurch Clinical Studies Trust and a member of the SCOTT committee.  His research experience includes principal investigator status on many early phase clinical trials and participation in investigator initiated and cooperative group studies. Chris  is a well published researcher with an interest in health technology assessment and innovative trial design. Chris is also a Radiation Oncologist with a senior clinical role at St George’s Cancer Care.

Professor Richard Robson is a Director of the Christchurch Clinical Studies Trust and a consultant Nephrologist .

Professor Robson’s research activities encompass basic Pharmacology Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Cell Physiology and Clinical Nephrology and Urology. He has published three book chapters and over 75 journal articles.

He is currently Chairman of the Health Research Council Standing Committee on Therapeutic Trials (SCOTT) and the Ministerial Committee, Medicines  Assessment Advisory Committee (MAAC).

Alex is a general practitioner who joined the CCST team in 2014. Since 2019 she has been studying towards her Diploma in Human Pharmacology through King’s College and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine in London, UK. Alex is enjoying the opportunity to further her knowledge and skills which she can use in her role as a Senior Research Physician and Principal Investigator at CCST.

Jo Sanders is a nurse with a Masters in Health Science with extensive experience in haematological clinical research into bone marrow transplantation. Jo joined the CCST team as Operations Manager in Feb 2016. She works closely with the Directors, Principal Investigators and Study Coordinators to ensure timely delivery of projects with subject safety and quality of data the highest priority.
